Stop Forcing One AI Tool to Do It All
Let your tools work the way you work—beautifully.
A couple of weeks ago, we explored how tools like Perplexity—and specifically, its Spaces—can support different stages of your creative process.
But today, I want to go a little deeper.
Let’s talk about why choosing the right tool for the right task matters—beyond just getting things done.
Let’s talk about delight.
Most of us met ChatGPT first.
It was loud. It was everywhere. It promised to do everything—from business plans to bedtime stories.
Then I introduced you to Perplexity—quieter, more curious, and honestly? Kinda brilliant in its own right.
Now the real question is this:
“Okay, sis… when do I use which one?”
Because here’s the truth:
Both tools are powerful—but trying to make one do everything is what keeps us stuck.
When do you use the right tool for the real job?
You stop spinning your wheels.
You stop rewriting the same paragraph ten times.
You stop jumping between tabs hoping clarity will magically show up.
You actually get the work done—and done well.
With fewer delays. Fewer do-overs.
And way more confidence in what you're creating.
Choosing Tools Is Like Preparing for a Potluck
I know it sounds strange but stick with me.
If I volunteered to bring dessert and a drink to a potluck, I could take the easy route—cookies and lemonade from the corner store. It would be good enough. Checked the box. Done.
But if I want to delight—if I want to enjoy what I bring and maybe even create a little moment of joy for someone else—I’m doing it differently.
I’m stopping by my favorite bakery for those unforgettable bundtinis that disappear in minutes. I’m grabbing that lemonade from the chicken place that tastes like summer in a glass.
The task is the same.
But the experience transforms—from ordinary to extraordinary.
From “just enough” to something worth remembering.
That’s How I Curate My Tech Stack
I don’t force one tool to wear every hat.
Instead, I let each one shine in its own role—because that’s where ease and excellence meet.
That’s where the work becomes not just done, but delightful.
Here’s How I Use Each Tool (and Why)
💬 ChatGPT Projects: The Builder
Helps me draft, outline, and refine.
Turns my messy brainstorms into something I can shape and share.
Ideal when I’m in the creation phase.
🔍 Perplexity Spaces: The Gatherer
Gives me clean, credible summaries and search paths.
Helps me save threads of thought and stay organized.
Ideal when I’m still exploring or clarifying a topic.
Both are amazing.
But I don’t ask them to do each other’s job.
And because of that, they each do their job better.
Wisdom Doesn’t Rush. It Selects.
You don’t need to master all the tools.
You just need to learn which ones are yours—the ones that match your rhythm, your voice, your moment.
Because that’s what legacy-level creativity feels like.
And if that’s the kind of work you’re building?
You’re in the right place.
